"Woman who sparked £150,000 manhunt after slashing her own face then crying rape faces jail"

"A 'wicked' woman who slashed and bruised her own face and body before crying rape has today been found guilty of perverting the course of justice.

Leyla Ibrahim, 22, also cut her hair and clothes to support her claim that she had been sexually attacked while walking home alone after a night out.

Her allegations - intended to 'teach people a lesson' - sparked the biggest manhunt faced by Carlisle police, with the investigation costing taxpayers £150,000."
